How I Help You Connect to Your True Self

I will help you connect to yourself through an identification of what you are drawn to. You will learn what makes you feel alive and embodied as a person. My approach integrates the mind, body, and spirit to help you navigate these complex identities. Together, we will learn how to identify intrusive thoughts versus genuine feelings and assess if they align with your core values.

FAQs

Do I need to be sure about my gender identity before starting therapy?

You do not need to be certain about your gender identity to begin therapy. In fact, therapy is often the safest space to explore uncertainty. We welcome individuals who are questioning, fluid, or simply curious about their expression. Our role is not to define you, but to provide the tools for you to discover where you feel most at home in your body.

How does therapy for sexual orientation differ from gender identity work?

Therapy for sexual orientation focuses on who you are attracted to, while gender identity work focuses on who you are internally. While these two areas can overlap, we treat them as distinct journeys. We help you navigate the specific challenges of each, from coming out and navigating family dynamics to finding community and overcoming internalized stigma.

Can you help with the transition process in Frisco or Florida?

Yes, we support clients through the social, medical, and legal aspects of transition in both Texas and Florida. We provide letters of support for medical interventions when appropriate and offer a space to process the emotional changes that accompany physical transition. We can also connect you with local LGBTQ-affirming resources in the Frisco area.

Is this therapy affirmative for non-binary and agender individuals?

Ignite Therapy is fully affirmative and inclusive of non-binary, agender, genderfluid, and genderqueer identities. We move beyond the binary to help you find language and expression that feels authentic to you, rather than forcing you into a "male" or "female" box.
